SSCP Diversity Awards

Overview

Lifetime Achievement Diversity Award: This award will be given to an SSCP member who is a senior-level clinical scientist who has made important and sustained research contributions in the area of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across the lifespan of their career.

Outstanding Impact Diversity Award: This award will be given to an SSCP member who has made unique contributions to the field in the area of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  These contributions must have resulted in significant impact in at least one domain particularly related to training/mentoring, or service to the profession. The award is distinct from the Lifetime Achievement Award in that it may be awarded to a clinical scientist at any stage of their career, and it is not exclusively focused on achievements in research.

For both awards, contributions in research and other professional activities (e.g., mentoring of underrepresented undergraduate and/or graduate students, clinical services for diverse and underserved populations) should be highlighted in the application materials. Members of all underrepresented and minority groups are encouraged to apply and preference will be given to candidates who are part of an underrepresented and minority group. . Self-nominations will be accepted. The Board will assemble a selection committee of SSCP members to review the applicants for these awards.

How to apply
